Trade show Scoop said ‘Bienvenue’ to a whole host of new designers after a ‘triumphant' first-day welcoming buyers from leading retailers.

The show’s latest edition welcomed visitors into an immersive journey ‘Here Comes the Sun’. Buying teams from leading retailers including Young Ideas, ALC, Applause, Lola, Sister and flocked to the event to discover the curated edit of over 200 contemporary designer collections.

Taking place at Olympia West, Kensington from July 14 - 16, this season’s show coincides with Bastille Day, which inspired the French Riviera theme.

Buyers entering were transported to the vintage French Riviera with a floral boat display capturing the aesthetic of a 1930s seaside resort. Once inside, artwork by Paul O’Farrell, Costume Designer at the Royal Opera House, added a dose of theatrical flair.

Scoop Founder and Managing Director, Karen Radley, said:  "What a wonderful first day. We have seen buyers from independents across the UK and Ireland. Everyone is enjoying the curation of emerging talent and the atmosphere we have created. Since I started Scoop, I have always championed new talent, and I am thrilled the buyers are sharing my enthusiasm. I look forward to welcoming more visitors over the next two days."

Rosie Wild, a buyer from Moda Rosa in Alresford, commented: "What a great start to the buying season. I always get excited by the new designers and always find something new at Scoop. This season I rather liked the French collections."

Returning designer Brenda Knight added: "My first impression of coming to Scoop is that it is the most beautiful show, the most that I’ve ever attended. I was absolutely charmed by the flowers and the chandeliers. The exhibitor content was very impressive and excellent European designers to show alongside."
