Scoop partners with V&A for February edition

Contemporary womenswear tradeshow Scoop has partnered with the V&A to create the visual identity of its AW19 edition taking place at the Saatchi Gallery in February.

The collaboration celebrates the work of Irish-born William Kilburn (1745–1818) who was considered to be the most famous designer of block-printed cottons in the 18th century. The Kilburn Album, which is one of the V&A’s most treasured items, holds 200 botanical designs for printed textiles.

Kilburn's designs will feature throughout the show and across all show material. British brand Pyrus will be using the prints to create designs for show staff to wear on site, complemented by scarves from Ratti Spa. The prints will also appear on notebooks from Papier.

Scoop founder and managing director said: “We’re hugely excited to be collaborating with the V&A, a museum which has been synonymous with creativity in art and design throughout its history and remains at the vanguard of innovative design today. We feel honoured to have been given access to some truly incredible designs from the V&A archive and are looking forward to developing the collaboration further between now and the February edition of the show.”

Lauren Sizeland, head of business development and licensing at the V&A added: “We are delighted to be working with Scoop for their February 2019 edition. The V&A’s collection of fashion and textiles is world-renowned, so it is fitting that we collaborate with Scoop, the leading fashion trade show. The V&A’s rich archive has inspired designers and manufacturers around the world for generations and we continue to support emerging talent in the fashion industry.”

The next edition of Scoop will take place on 10–12 February 2019 at the Saatchi Gallery, London. For further information visit www.scoop-international.com
