Sandra Choi to receive Special Recognition Award at The Fashion Awards 2026
Jimmy Choo Creative Director Sandra Choi OBE will receive a Special Recognition Award for her contribution to the global fashion industry at The Fashion Awards 2026.
The British Fashion Council (BFC) will present the award at the ceremony on 30 November at the Royal Albert Hall in London, recognising Choi’s three decades leading the creative direction of Jimmy Choo.
Choi joined the luxury accessories brand in 1996 as one of its founding creative voices and has since helped shape its design direction and global identity. She has overseen collections spanning shoes, bags, accessories, jewellery, eyewear and fragrance.
The award comes three months after Choi was appointed an OBE in the 2026 King’s Birthday Honours for services to fashion. At the time, Choi said the honour was recognition of her work and of everyone who had contributed their “creativity and passion” to Jimmy Choo over three decades.
Choi said she was “truly honoured” to receive the Special Recognition Award from the BFC, adding: “When I think back to where we began in East London all those years ago, I could never have imagined where this journey would take us.”
She also credited the people she has worked with throughout her career, saying fashion is “never the work of one person” and is built through “creativity, craft, collaboration, and a shared belief in making something meaningful”.
Laura Weir, Chief Executive of the BFC, said Choi is “one of fashion’s most respected creative leaders” and has shaped Jimmy Choo into an enduring global brand while championing the people and talent within the industry.
The Special Recognition Award also acknowledges Choi’s contribution to British fashion through mentoring and industry leadership, alongside her creative work at Jimmy Choo.
Jimmy Choo was founded in 1996 as an East London atelier and has since grown into a global luxury accessories house. The brand operates more than 200 boutiques worldwide and is part of Capri Holdings.
The Fashion Awards will take place on 30 November at the Royal Albert Hall, with the event raising funds for the BFC Foundation, which supports creative talent and businesses across the UK fashion industry.
