Russell & Bromley redundancies hit 332 after store closures
Russell & Bromley has made a total of 332 redundancies across its head office and store network following insolvency proceedings.
Since Interpath was appointed as administrator on 21 January 2026, 332 roles have been cut across both corporate and retail operations.
The joint administrators said they are working with affected employees and offering support, including assistance with claims to the Redundancy Payments Service.
Earlier this week, the company confirmed the closure of all remaining stores and concessions that had been under review. Most employees in locations that were not included in the sale have consequently been made redundant.
The closures follow a pre-pack administration deal completed in January, under which NEXT acquired the Russell & Bromley brand and selected assets. The transaction included only three stores, located in Chelsea, Mayfair and Bluewater.
Founded in 1880 in Sussex, the business had experienced prolonged financial pressure due to declining sales, increasing operating costs and a relatively high fixed cost base, alongside broader challenges in the UK retail environment, including inflation and weaker consumer demand.
