Russell & Bromley completes closure of all retail outlets not acquired by NEXT
Footwear brand Russell & Bromley has now shut down all of its remaining stores and concessions that were previously at risk of closure, with an unconfirmed number of staff having been made redundant.
This follows the brand's pre-pack insolvency rescue deal completed in January this year, when retailer NEXT acquired the Russell & Bromley brand and certain assets. The deal included only three of the brand's prime stores in Chelsea, Mayfair and Bluewater.

Russell & Bromley Mayfair remains open
Following last week's reporting that 11 Russell & Bromley stores had closed across the UK, Interpath has now confirmed that the remaining 22 stores and 9 concessions that were at risk of closure have also been shut down.
The footwear brand previously operated 36 stores across the UK employing 320 people prior to the closures.
Interpath noted that the closures meant that the majority of employees working in non-transferring stores had been made redundant.
"The administrators and their teams are engaging closely with all affected staff and will be providing support throughout the process, including assisting individuals in submitting claims to the Redundancy Payments Service," Interpath said.
The exact numbers of redundancies have not been confirmed yet.
According to a previous report from Interpath, Russell & Bromley fell to an EBITDA loss of £12.1 million in the 11 months to November 2025, before entering administration.
The group, whose roots trace back to 1880 in Sussex, had endured a sustained period of losses driven by falling sales, rising operational costs and a relatively high fixed cost base, compounded by difficult UK retail conditions marked by inflationary pressures and weakened consumer demand.
