Roger Vivier and Eva Green reunite for AW25 ‘La Rose Vivier’ campaign
Parisian luxury footwear, accessories and jewellery brand Roger Vivier has once called on the services of award-winning French actress Eva Green for its new campaign for AW25.
Green previously starred in Roger Vivier’s ‘Travelling Icons’ short film for AW24, but this time is the face of the brand’s new ‘La Rose Vivier’ film and imagery, once again working with Creative Director Gherardo Felloni.
The AW25 ‘La Rose Vivier’ collection highlights and reinterprets the rose motif which has been a recurring decorative detail in Roger Vivier’s creations - from the collaboration with milliner Suzanne Rémy in 1943 to the designer’s work with Dior in the 1950s.
In the new campaign, Green wears the ‘La Rose Vivier Pumps’ and ‘Clutch Bag’ - two brand-new designs introduced as the key pieces of the new season.
Set in the “hushed stillness of a Parisian palais”, the film begins with Green standing before a canvas of roses. In the new season’s sleek ‘Virgule’ slingbacks, she contemplates the painted blooms before slipping, “as if absorbed into their world”.
In keeping with the rose theme, a redesigned archival ‘Talon Épine’ stiletto heel shoe is embellished by a thorn - sharp and precise against soft petals of silk satin on the tip of the shoes.
The ‘Rose’ ballerina shoes bloom discreetly at the toe, while the silk ‘Rose Clutch Bag’ “unfolds like a flower caught mid-bloom”, sculpted in fabric.
The ‘Belle Vivier’ style also returns in striking leopard pony calfskin, a pattern lifted from the archives and “charged with Felloni’s wit for contrast”. Alongside it, the ‘Belle Vivier’ bag is renewed in leopard and classic shades, while the ‘Viv’ Choc’ bag — in Green’s hands from the opening scene — offers a sharper, more architectural counterpoint to the rose’s organic curves.
The film, described as “where cinema and fashion entwine”, follows Green’s disappearance into an imagined landscape, while a guard searches in vain through deserted galleries.
Green “becomes both witness and apparition”, with a rose blooming “as a bridge between Vivier’s sculptural past and its imaginative future”.
Green made her screen debut in Bernardo Bertolucci’s critically acclaimed film ‘The Dreamers’ and went on to make her Hollywood debut leading Ridley Scott’s historical epic ‘Kingdom of Heaven’. She later starred alongside Daniel Craig as Vesper Lynd in James Bond film ‘Casino Royale’, a role for which she was awarded the BAFTA Rising Star Award.
