Rodd & Gunn to open Bristol store following John Lewis concession success
Menswear brand Rodd & Gunn, which was founded in New Zealand in 1987, is gearing to open a flagship 2,563 sq ft store at Bristol’s Cribbs Mall this summer, having previously found success via a concession with John Lewis at the centre.
It will mark Rodd & Gunn’s 11th UK store and one of its first UK shopping centre destinations, as it continues its retail expansion.
The brand opened its debut European store at 3 Conduit Street in London’s Mayfair in August 2019. Since then, it has opened stores in Winchester, Bath, Bluewater, Glasgow and Edinburgh, among others.
The new Rodd & Gunn store will be stocking the brand’s popular tailored shirts, knitwear, trousers, jeans, polo shirts, Italian leather shoes, bespoke leather luggage and other accessories.
The arrival of Rodd & Gunn’s new store comes as Cribbs Mall fashion retailers reported a 4.5% growth in turnover during 2025, as well as a 13% growth in Gen Z shoppers. It also follows the recent arrivals of AllSaints and Animal as the shopping centre “cements its position as the home of fashion in the South West”.
Commenting on the new opening, Katie Searle, Director of Asset Management at Sovereign Centros by CBRE, said: “Rodd & Gunn’s decision to open a standalone store at Cribbs is a prime example of how we work with exciting new brands entering the UK fashion market.
“From a concession at John Lewis, Rodd & Gunn has become a popular brand amongst our younger shopper audience, so we are delighted to have found them a new space in which they can grow and thrive.
“Meanwhile, established brands like Mango, H&M and River Island have all invested in their spaces, strengthening Cribbs’ position as the South West’s go-to fashion destination.”
