Rockins debuts denim collection

Lauretta Roberts
15 September 2016

Rockins, best known for its rock-inspired skinny silk scarves, has launched its first denim and ready-to-wear line with which founders Tim Rockins and Jess Morris aim to re-educate wearers and bring about a return to "un-pretentious" fashion.

Crafted from 14oz non-stretch denim, the collection's jeans come in three styles, high-, mid- and low-rise, and in four signatures washes (from light indigo to vintage wash black). They have been designed to give each wearer the perfect "apple bum". Rockins and Morris advise infrequent washing and storing the jeans overnight in the freezer to maintain the perfect shape and banish the "stretchy jegging" look for good.

The ready-to-wear offer includes shirting, scarves and tees inspired by the designers' love of Rock 'n' Roll. The 100% silk shirts come in 70s-inspired Paisley prints featuring guns surrounded by roses, complemented by the signature matching-print Crepé de Chine silk bias-cut scarves.

Hero styles from the range are vintage fit jackets, military shirts and skinny waistcoats which have been hand-customised by founder Tim Rockins (who is also an artist) using mother-of-pearl buttons, chains and handpicked vintage patches.

Prices start from £70 for tees, from £220 for silk shirts and from £160 for jeans. Prices rise to £750 for hand-customised denim jackets.

The collection is available exclusively from today Matchesfashion.com and will be rolled out to other Rockins stockists, such as Harrods, in a month's time.

Rockins was founded by artist and musician Tim Rockins and marketing director Jess Morris in 2014 when they began by producing silk scarves for their friends. After being spotted around the necks of Kate Moss, Jamie Hince and Katy England, media interest peaked and the Rockins brand was born.
