Reiss partners with The Royal Ballet for 60-piece collection
Reiss has today launched a 60-piece collection in collaboration with The Royal Ballet, fusing fashion and the ‘timeless elegance’ of the dance.
Inspired by the dancer’s world “from street to studio”, the collection spans four distinct capsules: ‘rehearsal wear’, ‘performance’, ‘celebratory dressing’ and ‘off-duty style’ – introducing two Royal Ballet dancers, Marianna Tsembenhoi and Francisco Serrano, capturing “the quiet rituals and electric anticipation that shape their day”.
It is described as “a shared appreciation for creativity, precision and the pursuit of something truly unique”, targeted at Reiss’s existing customers while also attracting new customers to the brand who appreciate artistry and detail, and who want wearable and versatile pieces for their everyday life.
The world of ballet and dance is referenced in design details throughout the collection, including tutu-inspired tulle skirts, corsetry lacing and boning, satin ballet shoe-inspired ribbon details and luxury jersey pieces.
The inspiration of The Royal Ballet is also seen in the collection's colour palette, with muted shades of ‘ballet pink’, blush and ivory sitting alongside mink, charcoal and black hues, accented with occasional pops of scarlet in reference to the Royal Opera House.
Primarily focused on womenswear, there are also smaller capsules of men’s, girls’ and boys’ pieces. Menswear includes elevated hoodies, T-shirts and joggers adorned with The Royal Ballet logo, plus a grosgrain tuxedo jacket with coordinating moiré taffeta trousers.
Key womenswear pieces include a tutu-inspired dress in pink with a layered tulle skirt and sheer boned bodice, an oversized trench in a blush parachute fabric, statement trousers with floor-grazing fringing and an elegant pale pink satin top adorned with satin bows inspired by ballet shoe ribbons.
The girls’ collection includes several designs inspired by the women’s collection, including a layered chiffon, tutu-inspired dress and skirt.
The collection, now available on the Reiss website and at selected Reiss stores globally, will also help support the work and artistry of The Royal Ballet, with 10% of the sales being donated to the Royal Opera House Covent Garden Foundation.
