Reiss launches new "Luxe Leisure" collection in answer to the “new normal”

Taking leisurewear to the next level, and in light of “hot desking between the kitchen table and the sofa” becoming the new normal, Reiss has launched a new "Luxe Leisure" collection with the strapline “This is comfy, curated.”

Having soft launched the collection over the past couple of weeks, the majority of the collection is available now, with additional key pieces dropping through to the end of September, 2020, for both men and women.

The collection has been inspired by the current climate of living through the coronavirus pandemic, focusing on adapting to new style requirements and how priorities have changed in terms of approach to modern dress codes as customers “reach for the very few loungewear pieces that existed in our wardrobes that offered a sense of comfort, practicality and versatility.”

It stems from the fashion retailer noticing a change in its customers’ purchasing habits, highlighting a need to expand its current product offering to adapt to the times.

Throughout the pandemic, Reiss has seen continued success across its more "leisurewear-focused" pieces, with a demand for styles that balance leisure with luxury. Last week its cotton products category saw an uplift of 170%, while denim was up 300% year-on-year.

“Tactile textures you won’t want to take off” are the new priority, as well as “basics that are anything but basic.” Super-soft wool and alpaca blends feature strongly, while mix and match pieces in tonal and earthy shades play with proportion. Joggers, bodysuits, hoodies and gilets all get a new luxury take and, all in all, it’s Reiss’s answer to the new stylish comfy - even when you do make it to the office.
