Rains heads to Glasgow for first Scottish store
Rains has opened a 1,076 sq ft store at 203 Ingram Street in Glasgow, marking the Danish outerwear brand’s first store in Scotland.
Since opening its first UK store at Coal Drops Yard in London’s King’s Cross in 2018, and its second at 20 Earlham Street in Covent Garden’s Seven Dials in 2019, Rains completed a hatrick of London stores with an opening at 39 Brushfield Street, Spitalfields, in September 2023, before heading to Dublin in Ireland with a store at 21 Wicklow Street in March 2024.
Offering premium waterproof outerwear, bags and accessories, its latest store is "set against the backdrop of one of the UK’s rainiest cities" – nestled in the prominent Merchant City area of Glasgow, an aspirational location for shoppers and other high-end retailers.
Daniel Brix Hesselager, co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Rains, said: "It’s exciting to launch in a city with such a strong cultural landscape, with world-renowned art and design schools, which is one of the reasons we chose Glasgow as the home to our first Scottish store.
"Rains is, after all, a brand that Philip (Lotko) and I created while at design school in Denmark. The store itself showcases our minimalist approach to design; a simple environment ensures our rainwear, bags and accessories attract all the customer’s attention."
