Quiz's biggest-ever partywear drop fuels sales growth

Quiz Clothing has reported a 6% rise in like-for-like sales for the 6 weeks ending 12 November, fuelled by the launch of its largest Partywear Collection to date and signalling a strong start to the all-important Christmas trading period.

The 250-piece womenswear collection, which dropped at the end of October, has driven a surge in demand across dresses, footwear and accessories as consumers begin planning festive dressing earlier than in previous years.

According to the retailer, early trend indicators show shoppers gravitating toward midi and maxi lengths, with mesh, satin and velvet emerging as the season’s key fabrics. Footwear and accessories have also delivered a like-for-like uplift, with gold stiletto heels and clutch bags outperforming other evening styles.

Sheraz Ramzan, CEO of Quiz, said: "Quiz is renowned for its accessible partywear, and the 2025 Party Collection has had a great response from Quiz consumers.

"We have experienced a significant sales rise driven by demand for items featuring fashion-forward mesh, satin and velvet styles in black, bottle green and brown. Notably on footwear and accessories gold has overtaken silver as the metallic of choice, due largely to its ability to pair with the many brown, berry and green tones coming through on dresses."

Early regional data shows Glasgow, Manchester, Sheffield and London leading demand, with an average £60 basket value.

Designed with versatility in mind, the collection includes 200 clothing options and 50 accessories, with sizes running from petite to UK 22. Quiz currently operates 40 UK stores alongside a network of international franchise and online partners.

The latest partywear-driven uplift comes as Quiz continues to rebound following a major restructure earlier this year. Over the summer, the brand posted a 14% increase in like-for-like store sales and a 5% online uplift across July and August - early evidence that its strategic reset is taking hold.

Back in February, Quiz overhauled its design, buying and merchandising teams, added new talent, and bolstered its supplier base with more nearshore partners. The move is already translating into quicker turnaround times and fresher product drops, it said.
