The PVH Corp Foundation has announced it is committing an additional $1 million toward COVID-19 relief efforts, making for a total donation of $2 million.

The fashion group, whose portfolio includes brands Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger, is the latest to offer support to those impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.

The additional donation is being made through the company's philanthropic fund, the PVH Foundation, with funds going primarily to local-focused charities in locations including Canada, Brazil, France, Spain, the UK and the US.

The support will help frontline medical workers, as well as help the fight against food insecurity and shortages for vulnerable families.

Manny Chirico, Chairman and CEO of PVH, said: “As I work with our global leadership team to address a responsible plan forward for our business, how we execute it as good corporate citizens is an important part of our discussions. There is no roadmap for this crisis, but I know that at PVH we have strong values and connections to our communities.

As part of the immediate and ongoing funds to support the fashion industry and the communities where PVH operates, the fashion group will make additional contributions towards organisations that are addressing the needs of their global supply chain workforce.

Calvin Klein is also a founding partner and donor of OutRight Action International’s COVID-19 Global LGBTQ Emergency Fund.

PVH Corp was one of the first to temporarily close stores as the coronavirus continued to spread. The company announced it was to immediately close all Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein and Speedo in Europe, US and Canada.
