PrettyLittleThing joins Kappa for '90's cool girl' collection

Fast fashion e-tailer PrettyLittleThing (PLT) has teamed up with the iconic sportswear brand Kappa to create a line-up of retro-inspired clothing.

Kappa, which garnered popularity in the 1990s, quickly became the uniform for stars and civilians alike. Its "Omini" logo pictures the silhouette of a man and woman leaning against each other - representing the brand’s emphasis on equality. This aligns with PrettyLittleThing’s core values, which aim to make "women feel confident, empowered, and beautiful".

Dre Hayes, President of Kappa USA, commented: "I am excited for the launch of this project with PrettyLittleThing. Although we are a heritage sportswear brand, Kappa embodies the spirit of youth culture and PrettyLittleThing is a perfect partner to share this vision."

The 31-piece collection was inspired by vintage sportswear with a street-style twist. It mixes off-duty athleisure with PLT trend-led designs.

The Kappa x PLT campaign is fronted by the US-based rapper GloRilla, who recently came into the spotlight with her 2022 song F.N.F., which was nominated for Best Rap Performance at the Grammy Awards.

PrettyLittleThing’s Marketing Director, Nicki Capstick, said: "We’re so excited to launch this collaboration with such an iconic lifestyle brand such as Kappa. Staying true to what Kappa is known for to pay homage to its roots whilst still resonating with even our youngest customers was super important to us when it came to designing this collection.

"We hope merging the typical sportswear feel that is Kappa’s legacy with a "going out" edge will bring a fresh take that is wearable to all this summer."

The collaborative collection is now available at prettylittlething.com in sizes 4 to 30, with prices ranging from a purse-friendly £10- £40.

This follows PrettyLittleThing's recently launched collection with Love Island 2022 runner-up and influencer Gemma Owen, who became a PLT brand ambassador in August 2022. Owen worked closely alongside PLT’s Head of Design Chris Parnell on the new 24-piece collection, brought to life with a shoot on location in Dubai.
