Prada's CEO Gianfranco D’Attis steps down
Prada has announced that its CEO Gianfranco D'Attis is to leave the luxury Italian fashion company at the end of June.
D'Attis will be replaced on an interim basis by Prada Group’s CEO Andrea Guerra, according to Reuters.
The news comes after Prada Group last month reporting a “solid performance” during the first quarter of 2025, with Miu Miu delivering 60% year-on-year growth, while Prada’s revenue remained “stable”.
D’Attis has been in the role since January 2023, having joined Prada from Christian Dior Couture, where he was firstly Managing Director and then President Americas.
His departure from Prada has been described as a “mutual agreement” that may have been reached due to disagreements over strategy.
There have been a number of shake-ups in leadership teams at luxury fashion houses in recent weeks. Only last week, it was reported that Gucci-owner Kering is to appoint Renault boss Luca de Meo as its new CEO.
The Italian, who will leave Renault in mid-July, will reportedly replace Kering CEO Francois-Henri Pinault, whose family controls the heavily indebted luxury goods maker.
In April, the Prada Group also announced the acquisition of Versace from Capri Holdings, in another twist at the top of the luxury fashion pile. Capri entered into a definitive agreement to sell Versace to Prada Group for $1.375 billion (£1.06 billion) in cash. The transaction is expected to close in the second half of 2025, subject to regulatory approvals. By acquiring Gianni Versace's legacy brand, Prada will create a larger Italian player to compete with the likes of LVMH and Kering.
