Poundland converts two locations to PEP&CO stores in Birmingham and Coventry
Poundland is to reopen two hibernating stores in Birmingham and Coventry as standalone PEP&CO stores to showcase the full range of clothing and homeware.
The stores are being prepared for a return on Friday 25 June, after they were placed in temporary hibernation last year.
They will sell the full range of PEP&CO clothing and PEP&CO Home, as well as a wide range of health and beauty and baby items, plus soft drinks, snacks and confectionery.
Poundland Commercial Director, Tim Bettley, said: “Our customers love our clothing as it offers a perfect mix of everyday essentials and seasonal fashions for all the family. Whether it’s a summer dress for mum, a new pair of shorts for dad or our amazing summer sets for the kids, there’s something for everyone at our amazing value.”
Following its launch last summer, the latest PEP&CO Home range includes the latest throws, cushions, photo frames and decorative pieces from its Spring/Summer 2021 collections.
Poundland Retail and Transformation director, Austin Cooke, added: “Our customers in Birmingham and Coventry will get the best of both worlds – they can pick up PEP&CO items in their Poundland or browse the full range round the corner in the new PEP&CO stores.
“Over the last few years we’ve been working hard on opening PEP&CO shop-in-shops inside Poundland, but in this case it made sense to use the locations as standalone PEP&CO stores. As a company with our roots in the West Midlands, it’s great that we’re still innovating and bringing new experiences to shoppers in the region.
“We couldn’t be opening at a better time for Coventry, as residents and visitors enjoy the fantastic events to mark its year as the City of Culture 2021.”
PEP&CO started with a single store in 2015 and while there are still a small number of standalone PEP&CO stores, its remarkable growth as one of the UK’s most popular clothing brands has been driven by the opening of PEP&CO shop-in-shops inside Poundland stores.
In April 2021, the 350th PEP&CO shop-in-shop opened in Oxfordshire.
