The Pitti Uomo trade show has confirmed it will not be taking place in June as planned, instead running 2-4 September 2020 at Fortezza da Basso in Florence.

As Italy continues to struggle with the coronavirus pandemic, Pitti Immagine decided it would be in the best interest to rescheduled the 98th edition of the menswear trade show.

Dates for other trade shows operated by Pitti Immagine have also been changed, including the childrenswear Pitti Bimbo show, now running 9-10 September.

Raffaello Napoleone, CEO, Pitti Immagine, said in a statement: “Our three fashion-focused shows will certainly be exceptional editions and we guarantee the complete sanification of the exhibiting space while we will reorganise our show’s space organisation completely in order to keep in mind people’s wellbeing."

“We are also working at Pitti Connect, a new advanced version of our previous digital platforms designed according to our different show types."

The news comes a week after The British Fashion Council confirmed that the men’s shows in London scheduled for June will not take place in response to the worldwide COVID-19 outbreak.
