Phase Eight to open second Glasgow store as retail roll-out gathers pace
Phase Eight is opening its second store in Glasgow at the Braehead Shopping Centre on 21 August, as its retail expansion picks up pace.
The new 2,680 sq ft space adopts the Phase Eight retail concept which the TFG London-owned brand has been rolling out since the opening of its Westfield London flagship in 2022.
It adds to the existing Glasgow city centre Phase Eight store at 220 Buchanan Street, where the retailer has successfully traded for over 15 years. In Scotland, Phase Eight also has stores in Edinburgh, Aberdeen, St. Andrews and Caledonia Park Outlet.
The Braehead opening is the latest stage of the brand's retail expansion strategy which launched last year - with 13 stores across the UK and Europe. There are further store openings in key locations such as Dublin, Fosse Park shopping centre in Leicester and Hamburg in Germany planned for later this year.
Caraline Money, Retail Director at Phase Eight, said: "We are proud to be opening our second Glasgow store in the Braehead Shopping Centre, a city we have successfully traded in for over 15 years.
"The second location will allow us to bring our signature 5-star customer service experience to even more customers in the region."
The new store features curved timber wall arches, solid wood flooring, a marble backdrop on the cash desk, and a private VIP styling room.
As well as Phase Eight's latest event and ready-to-wear collections, in sizes 8-18, the new store will carry footwear, accessories and the retailer’s limited-edition ranges - such as the petite collection and its premium "black tie range", Collection 8.
Last month saw Phase Eight relocate and upsize its Bury St Edmunds store – to a new 2,389 sq ft unit at Arc Shopping Centre. In May, it also opened a new 2,500 sq ft upsized store at Bluewater Shopping Centre in Kent.
At the end of March, the brand marked its return to Edinburgh with a new flagship at 85 George Street. It had previously resided at 47b on the busy city centre street, but the original store was closed in early 2023.
Earlier in March, the retailer also opened a new 1,571 sq ft flagship store at the Bentall Centre in Kingston, having previously only traded through concessions in Fenwick and John Lewis in the town.
In April, TFG London, the owner of Phase Eight, Whistles and Hobbs, secured a £90 million refinancing facility "to support strategic growth ambitions", which include Phase Eight’s retail roll out.
TFG London is part of the Foschini Group Limited (TFG), a leading South African retail business that entered the UK market in 2015 with the acquisition of Phase Eight in 2015, swiftly followed by other womenswear mainstays of the British high street, Hobbs and Whistles. It also owns the Damsel in a Dress brand.
