This month has seen a number of big industry shake-ups, with brands fighting for the best talent as many continue turnaround strategies, while others target international growth and expansion. There was also the appointment of actress Gillian Anderson as Chief Compliments Officer at M&S, which caused quite a stir - but more on that below.

TheIndustry.fashion highlights the most notable appointments, spanning roles from CEOs and commercial leadership to creative directors and finance positions.

British retailer AllSaints appointed former Commercial Director of Zalando, Nichole Strydom, as its Chief Merchant, effective from 5 May 2026.

Jigsaw Retail Director exits weeks after appointment 

Lisa Butler confirmed her departure from Jigsaw just weeks after joining the business as Retail Director.

Christopher Kane joins Mulberry as creative director of ready-to-wear 

Mulberry appointed celebrated British fashion designer Christopher Kane as creative director of its women's ready-to-wear, as the luxury house seeks to double down on its "Back to the Mulberry Spirit" strategy.

On reshuffles leadership as it enters next phase of global expansion

Swiss sportswear brand On announced a leadership reshuffle as it prepares to enter its next phase of global expansion. Effective 1 May 2026, co-founders David Allemann and Caspar Coppetti will take over as Co-CEOs. They succeed Martin Hoffmann, who will be stepping down as Chief Executive after 13 years with the company.

Debenhams names Managing Director to lead ‘next stage of growth’

Debenhams Group promoted Chief Commercial Officer Richard Vanoli to the role of Managing Director of Debenhams to lead the “next stage of growth”.

Hackett London and Pepe Jeans owner AWWG appoints new CEO

Madrid-based fashion group AWWG, which owns Hackett London, Pepe Jeans and Façonnable, promoted its Chief Financial & Business Officer, Laura Fernandez Plaza, to the role of Chief Executive Officer.

N Brown Group

N Brown appoints CEO and Chair to drive next phase of retail and financial growth

N Brown Group, the owner of JD Williams, Jacamo and Simply Be, appointed Dan Joy as Chief Executive Officer and Malcolm Le May as Chair, following the departure of Steve Johnson after ten years in leadership.

ASOS poaches Amazon Fashion GM for new MD of Global Trading role 

ASOS announced the appointment of Natasha Jeffers to the newly created role of Managing Director, Global Trading. Jeffers joins ASOS from Amazon Fashion, where she spent nine years - the last four years and 10 months as General Manager.

Puig separates Chairman and CEO roles in leadership shift 

Puig appointed Jose Manuel Albesa as its new Chief Executive Officer, formally separating the roles of Chairman and CEO. Marc Puig, who previously held both positions, will continue as Executive Chairman.

John Galliano, widely believed to be one of the most talented fashion designers of his generation, signed a deal with Spanish fashion giant Zara to design “seasonal collections”.

Woolmark appoints new CEO as demand for Merino wool ramps up 

Australian Wool Innovation (AWI), the organisation behind the global Woolmark brand, announced Bryan Fry as its new Chief Executive Officer, replacing outgoing CEO John Roberts.

Depop appoints 'Trends Spokesperson' to champion circular fashion culture 

Depop appointed Gabriella Karefa-Johnson, formerly the global Contributing Editor-at-Large at Vogue, as Trends Spokesperson, a global role in which she will speak on emerging trends and the defining cultural role of circular fashion.

Harris Reed steps down at Nina Ricci to focus on namesake brand

Harris Reed left his role as Creative Director of Nina Ricci after three and a half years and will be turning his full attention to his namesake brand. His replacement has not yet been named.

Nadine Merabi taps ex-ASOS and ex-Jigsaw CEOs as strategic advisors

Luxury fashion house Nadine Merabi appointed former CEO of ASOS and Matches, Nick Beighton, and former CEO of Jigsaw and Oasis & Warehouse, Hash Ladha, as strategic advisors, as the brand enters its next phase of global expansion.

Cambridge Satchel appoints new CEO to spearhead expansion

British leather goods company Cambridge Satchel, which is part of French group Chargeurs Invest along with its luxury sister brand Swaine, appointed Vincent Perriard as Chief Executive Officer to lead the “next phase of growth”.

Jimmy Choo

Jimmy Choo names former Dunhill chief as new CFO 

Jimmy Choo appointed Andy Holmes as its new Chief Financial Officer, replacing Richard Kozlowski, who retires from the business at the end of March.

Marks & Spencer

M&S appoints actress Gillian Anderson as first-ever 'Chief Compliments Officer' 

Marks & Spencer announced the appointment of actress Gillian Anderson as its first-ever "Chief Compliments Officer", a playful new role created as part of the retailer’s latest ‘Love That’ campaign. The appointment, which coincided with the launch of the retailer's new spring 26 womenswear collection, and celebrates the “power of compliments and the joy of fashion”, caused quite a bit of stir for those not in the know.

Primark confirms Eoin Tonge as CEO, announces ex-H&M Group director as CCO 

Primark's parent company, Associated British Foods (ABF), confirmed the appointment of Eoin Tonge as Chief Executive with immediate effect. The company also announced the appointment of Filip Ekvall to the newly created post of Chief Commercial Officer at Primark.

Marks & Spencer appoints Frasers Group CCO as new online boss 

Frasers Group Chief Customer Officer David Clark will be joining Marks & Spencer from August as Director of Online, Omnichannel & Partnerships, reporting to John Lyttle, Managing Director of Clothing, Home & Beauty.

Tricker’s appoints Roberto Menichetti as Creative Director 

Heritage English shoemaker Tricker’s appointed Italian designer Roberto Menichetti as its new Creative Director. Menichetti will lead Tricker’s creative direction in parallel with his role as Creative Director of Jermyn Street shirtmaker Turnbull & Asser, “bringing together two pillars of British menswear and craftsmanship”.

Dr. Martens Chief Product Officer exits after four years 

Dr. Martens Chief Product Officer Adam Meek left after four years with the brand, where he led product strategy, branding and growth opportunities through franchise management.

Six Stories bolsters leadership team with key hires from Gymshark and Adanola 

Manchester-based bridal and occasionwear brand Six Stories announced four new senior appointments as part of the “major recruitment drive” it announced in December and its plans for global expansion, particularly in the US.
