Paul Smith names new CFO ahead of milestone 55th year
Paul Smith has announced the promotion of Richard Woollams to Chief Financial Officer, marking the latest senior appointment at the British luxury brand.
Woollams joined Paul Smith in 2010 as Financial Planning and Analysis Manager, before being promoted to Head of Financial Planning and Analysis in 2015, and later Director of Financial Planning and Analysis in 2022.
Prior to joining the Nottingham-based fashion house, Woollams held roles as a Financial Analyst for the National College for Leadership of Schools and Children’s Services and as a Private Banking Analyst for the Royal Bank of Scotland Business. He also spent four years as a Sales Consultant at Giorgio Armani between 2003 and 2007.
Woollams took to LinkedIn to make the announcement, writing: "It is an honour and a privilege to be taking on the role of Chief Financial Officer at Paul Smith! Exciting times ahead as we start this new chapter."
His appointment follows the recent announcement of Ewan Venters as Executive Chairman, a newly created position at the brand. Venters, who previously served as CEO of Fortnum & Mason and Hauser & Wirth, joined the Paul Smith board as a Non-Executive Director on 1 October.
At the time of the announcement, Sir Paul Smith, said: "I’m delighted to welcome Ewan to the team on the cusp of celebrating our 55th anniversary. In his time at Paul Smith as a non-executive director, Ewan has brought boundless energy and a welcome perspective to help propel us into our next chapter. I’m very excited to continue working together."
