Paris Fashion Week in numbers: the shows, trends and celebrities that came out on top

Paris Fashion Week may be the last of the "big four" that make up the official global Fashion Month and when it comes to social media engagement and fashion "moments", it's definitely a case of the industry saving the best 'til last.

PFW racked up 50.8m engagements on Instagram this season, which is 204% more than London Fashion Week (which is second in the schedule), according to figures compiled by content and commerce site Stylight in partnership with software and data insights company Launchmetrics.

Furthermore Paris' top show, the space-themed Chanel extravaganza, achieved 12.4m engagements on the social media platform alone, which represents a 1,224% increase on London's top show, which was Topshop Unique.

This high level of engagement for Paris was aided by the big names seen sitting in the front rows of the French capital, with blogger Camila Coehlo, music artist Nicki Minaj, and blogger Thassia Naves (5.6m, 75.5m and 2.7m Instagram followers respectively) generating the most engagement. The breakthrough social influencer of the week or "social rising star" was model Anais Gallagher, daughter of Oasis star Noel Gallagher and ex-wife Meg Mathews (98.6k Instagram followers).

Best set of the week was, perhaps unsurprisingly, awarded to Chanel for its Intergalactic Spaceship while the top moment went to Dries Van Noten who was staging his 100th PFW show and the most unexpected moment came from Stella McCartney for her tribute to the late singer George Michael.

But like London, it isn't just the high end designers who dominate the social media conversation, H&M, which showed its latest Studio collection, came top of the brand hashtag table with 2,821 posts using #hmstudio and 3.25m engagement.

In terms of trends, faux fur and blue, were two big themes with Miu Miu alone sending out 91 individual pieces containing faux fur, while Dior dedicated its show to the colour blue with 45 looks featuring variations on the hue.
