PANGAIA has achieved B Corp certification, scoring 84.5 on its assessment. Administered by nonprofit B Lab, B Corp is a certification that evaluates a brand's social and environmental impact.

It covers over 300 questions on governance, workers, communities and impact on the environment.

The fashion brand is now part of a community of 6,058 businesses globally who have certified as B Corps. The B Corp community in the UK comprises over 1,000 companies, including Thrift+, Berghaus, TOMS and Allbirds.

Maria Srivastava, Chief Impact Officer at PANGAIA, said: "Achieving B Corp certification is a major milestone, especially so early into our journey. B Corp's framework supports our on-going mission to inspire and accelerate an Earth-positive future and ensures that we continue to do business differently, prioritising the planet and its people."

PANGAIA has also been recognised for having four Impact Business Models (IBMs) across Governance and Environmental in recognition of the brand's use of more innovative materials and processes.

In December 2021, PANGAIA launched a collection with biology-based dying technology. Compared to the conventional dyeing of cotton, the Colorifix technology reduces water consumption by at least 49%, electricity by 35% and CO2 emissions by 31%.

Earlier this year, PANGAIA announced its commitment to reaching net-zero operations by 2025 and shared its goal to becoming net-zero carbon by 2040.
