Open for Vintage, the Dublin and London-based luxury re-sale platform, has partnered with Luxclusif to launch ‘The Loop', a handbag buy back service.

The handbag buy back service is available directly on the Open for Vintage (OFV) website, allowing customers to trade in their designer handbags in exchange for store credit. It will initially be available in the UK before rolling out across Europe and the US.

Rui Rapazote, Co-founder and CEO of Luxclusif, commented: "We're excited to partner with Open For Vintage and offer our Resale-as-a-Service technology. We believe our experience in powering large programs will be very beneficial to Open for Vintage and we're confident that our end-to-end solution - covering technology, operations, and commercial - will be instrumental for its customer experience and circularity efforts."

Customers are required to submit product details and photographs of their bags and a buy back price will be generated within two days of submission. Once accepted, the customer will send their bag to Luxclusif for verification, free of charge.

This initiative aims to give OFV customers a circular experience, promoting a sustainable fashion economy. Simultaneously, it will help to increase the volume of pre-owned merchandise across the wider Farfetch network.

The partnership will connect Luxclusif OFV’s luxury customer handbag collections, a customer base that spans over 40 countries. In addition to the Loop launch, the OFV website has received a major tech upgrade, including migration to Farfetch-owned order management company, Onport.

Colin Saunders, CEO of Open for Vintage, added: “The launch of The Loop and partnership with Luxclusif and Onport supports our mission to create the most trusted destination in re-sale by offering customers an unparalleled experience to discover, shop consciously and extend the lifecycle of luxury goods.”
