Oner Active appoints first CFO ahead of New York retail expansion

Oner Active has appointed Jessica Higgs as its first Chief Financial Officer as the women’s activewear brand prepares to open its first permanent store in New York.

Higgs joined the London-headquartered business in October 2022 and has led its finance department through its growth, now stepping into the CFO role. 

The appointment follows a record first half of 2026, when the company generated €114 million in gross revenue, up 94% year-on-year.

Higgs, who previously held roles at L’Oréal and Net-A-Porter, will oversee Oner Active’s long-term financial direction and introduce scalable processes across its international markets. Her remit will also include strengthening the financial controls and governance supporting the company’s expansion.

Higgs takes up the newly created C-suite position as the six-year-old Oner Active moves beyond its predominantly digital sales model.

The brand is preparing to open its first permanent store at 0 Bond Street in Manhattan’s NoHo district in October 2026. The 4,700 sq ft flagship is secured under a 10-year lease and will carry an exclusive New York capsule collection.

Oner Active has identified the US as its largest market, followed by the UK. Chief Executive Zach Duane said in December 2025 that the company expected to begin its physical retail rollout in the US, while the UK remained an important prospective market because it represented 20% of the business.

Oner Active was founded by Cela in 2020 and has built a community of almost 10 million women worldwide. The company said its brand and founder channels generate more than two billion organic impressions.

Its SoftMotion fabric collection, launched in November 2024, generated more than $5 million during its first six days of trading. Oner Active has sold one million SoftMotion products during 2026, equivalent to one item every 16 seconds, while the SoftMotion Straight Leg Pant has sold at a rate of one every 90 seconds.

The flagship opening will give Oner Active its first permanent physical presence, with the finance function now led at C-suite level as the company develops its store network.
