London menswear designer Oliver Spencer is to launch a new shop-in-shop in upscale Paris department store Le Bon Marché this month. The 35sqm space, situated on the lower ground floor of the Left Bank store, will open on 18 February and will showcase the designer's SS16 collection, which was inspired by the work of sculptor Richard Serra.

Spencer's collections are already stocked in more than 100 stores worldwide (including Liberty, Selfridges and Mr Porter) and in five standalone stores, four of which are in London and one in Toronto, Canada. The new opening is a key concession for the brand, which Spencer founded in 2002.

The Oliver Spencer collection covers the full range of ready-to-wear from denim to tailoring and accessories, including ties, gloves, scarves and sunglasses. The Serra-inspired SS16 collection features clashing textures and colours, portayed through contrasting wovens, checks and stripes. Spencer shows his collections at London Collections Men.

Le Bon Marché, founded in 1852, is said to be the world's first department store and is one of Paris' most prestigious retailers. It is now part of the LVMH group and stocks a range of high-end fashion & accessories brands for women, men and children including Balenciaga, Chanel and Louis Vuitton, as well as beauty and homewares. It is also famed for its foodhall La Grande Epicerie.
