Off-White stores across the world have replaced its products with flowers to honour the life of its late founder, Virgil Abloh.

The stores, including Tokyo, New York, Milan and London have cleared all products to replace them with a massive array of flowers in tribute to the founder of elevated streetwear brand Off-White and artistic director for Louis Vuitton menswear.

In an Instagram post, the team issued a statement in its caption: "In a world where kindness is rare, where hierarchies still carry weight and where fashion can change the rules but sometimes ends up creating new ones, there was you. You changed the system with your genius, your humility and your authenticity. you led by example. you taught and inspired millions of young people and filled our days with the energy and optimism of those who want to change the world for the better.

"Your extended family is heartbroken. we will miss you, Virgil. Your words constantly inspired us and gave us the courage to dare, to dream, to create. We’ll miss your WhatsApp messages, your laugh, your pure soul. We love you, Virgil. @off____white team ❤️ Our thoughts are with Shannon, Lowe, Grey, Edwina, Eunice, Nee and the rest of the family."

Abloh passed away on Sunday having fought a private battle with a rare form of cancer for several years. The late designer was honoured at Louis Vuitton's menswear show, featuring his final fashion collection on Thursday.

The show featured drones forming Abloh's initials and spelling out the words "Virgil was here" in the sky outside Miami's Marine Stadium where the memorial event was held as well as a giant statue of Abloh.
