Nuoceans partners with Bleckmann as European demand grows
Belgian-British sustainable footwear brand Nuoceans has appointed supply chain management specialist Bleckmann as its logistics partner, selecting the company's plug-and-play Bscale fulfilment platform to handle warehousing, order processing and returns.
Bleckmann said it had fully taken over Nuoceans' operations by the end of May, with the partnership beginning in February.
The arrangement gives Nuoceans, which transforms ocean waste into colourful vegan sandals, a scalable logistics setup as it expands across Europe.
Around 70% of the brand's business is in Germany and France, according to Bleckmann, and all orders are now processed from Bleckmann's distribution centre in Grobbendonk, Belgium.
Nuoceans was founded in 2018 in the UK by three university friends, Terence Chung, Valentina Slama and Hadrien Lejeune, and established a Belgian entity in 2024 following a crowdfunding round in 2022.
As European demand grew, in-house order processing had shifted from a manageable task to what Bleckmann described as "a time-consuming burden", prompting the search for a third-party logistics provider with omnichannel capabilities.
Bscale operates on a pay-as-you-grow model, meaning Nuoceans avoids the complex, costly infrastructure setup that a full-scale logistics build would require. Bleckmann said the system had proved cost-effective for the brand while reducing processing times and enabling more flexible stock management.
The arrangement is designed to free up the founding team to focus on growth and customer-facing activity rather than logistics management.
