Not Just a Label (NJAL), the online platform which champions emerging design talent, has added 300 new designers from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region making them available to buy before they have been seen anywhere else.

The move comes as part of NJAL's partnership with the Dubai Design District (d3) which aims to shine a spotlight on designers from the region and promote trade.

New names now available on the platform include Salta, Haifa Fahad, Zaid Farouki, Margherita, Bashar Assaf, HZ by Hissa Zainal, Lara Khoury and Alia Bin Omair, offering ready-to-wear, jewellery and accessories.

The Middle East is growing in importance as a fashion region. It is estimated that around a third of global haute couture clients hail from the Middle East. A number of important designers have emerged from the region including Zuhair Murad and Elie Saab and this latest initiative will no doubt ensure there will be more.

NJAL was founded by German-speaking Italian entrepreneur Stefan Segal. In a recent interview with The Industry, Segal described the initiative not just as a platform for new talent but "a lobby or political force to ignite change in the fashion industry".
