Nike is set to see its head of diversity leave the company after two years in the role, the second executive to leave that role in as many years, according to the Financial Times.

Felicia Mayo, who has served as Chief Talent, Diversity, and Culture Officer at the sportswear giant since July 2020, is set to depart at the end of July. Mayo had succeeded Kellie Leonard, Nike’s first head of diversity who also held the role for two years.

The American sportswear giant have grappled with allegations of gender discrimination and cultural issues in its workplace in recent years, with Nike’s CEO John Donahoe stating that the company’s priority has been "to get its own house in order: with regard to diversity."

In an internal memo seen by the Financial Times, Chief Human Resources Officer Monique Matheson thanked Mayo for her “impact and progress” at the company. Nike’s VP of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Jarvis Sam, will take on the newly created title of Chief Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer (DE&I).

Matheson added in the email that Nike is "integrating the role of our DE&I leader into the creation and execution of our people strategy".
