NEXT has signed a new long-term partnership with digital sports platform Fanatics to sell officially licensed sports merchandise on its website.

The new expanded licensed sports collection is now live on the NEXT website with sizing and options “for all members of the family”, including apparel, jerseys and headwear across a wide ranging portfolio of brands such as Nike, Adidas, Puma, New Era and the Fanatics own brand.

Fanatics, which is headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida, in the US and operates in North America, Asia and Europe, partners with more than 900 of the largest sporting organisations, teams and leagues in the world including Manchester United, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, The FA, England Rugby, UEFA, NFL, NBA, MLB and Formula 1.

This is the first time it has partnered with a major retailer in Europe to sell officially licensed products. It’s a big move from NEXT just in time for the run up to Christmas.

Matthew Primack, Senior Vice-President for International Business Affairs and Development at Fanatics, said: “This new partnership with NEXT, one of the most popular retailers in the UK, will mean that its customers will now have access to one of the widest ranges of licensed sports merchandise available.

“This is great news for customers who already visit Next.co.uk to shop for quality clothing and homeware and who will now also be able to also choose from a range of products, designs and styles from their favourite sports leagues, events, teams or players.”

The new connected inventory partnership will see NEXT power the front-end online experience and fulfilment to customers, while utilising Fanatics’ expertise in licensed sports merchandise and the broad range of products it has available. It will significantly increase the choice and selection for visitors to the NEXT website.

Fanatics has a number of similar partnerships with retailers in the USA, powering the licensed sports products offering online for the likes of Foot Locker, Walmart, Kohls and Nordstrom.
