Next hires ex-ASOS Head of Sustainability

Next has appointed ex-ASOS Head of Sustainability Jo Mourant as its new Head of Sustainability, Corporate Responsibility and Product Legislation, effective immediately.

In her new role, Mourant will lead and oversee the businesses sustainability plans and implementation, corporate responsibility and product production, including at its product testing lab.

Mourant was most recently ASOS's Head of Sustainability, where she led the development and delivery of the environmental aspect of its 'Fashion With Integrity' strategy. The strategy saw ASOS reduce the footprint and impact of own brand ASOS products and partner with third Party Brands to reduce impact & share learnings.

She also collaborated closely with the Ethical Trade team to develop a shared approach to managing social and environmental issues within ASOS's supply chain. Her role saw her continuously engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure business strategies and programmes consider and mitigate potential and emerging risks.

Earlier this year, Mourant helped ASOS launch its circular design collection featuring 47 pieces across clothing and accessories for the Spring/Summer season, alongside a trial partnership with resale service Thrift+.

Next declined to comment on the appointment.
