NEXT appoints Lipsy Co-Founder as executive director

NEXT has appointed Jeremy Stakol to its Board of Directors, taking on the role of Group Investments, Acquisitions and Third Party Brands Director. 

Stakol and his wife Marcelle are the founders of Lipsy, which was acquired by NEXT in 2008. He has served as CEO of the womenswear brand since 2004.

In more recent years, he has also led a number of new investment deals and helped lead Total Platform opportunities at NEXT, such as Joules, Victoria's Secret and Gap.

Stakol will now be responsible for investments and acquisitions in NEXT's third-party brands, the promotion of Total Platform to new clients and the sale of all third-party fashion brands online. He will also continued to run Lipsy and oversee wholesale, franchise and licensing of NEXT branded stock.

Last month, NEXT reported a 4.8% increase in full price sales for he fourth quarter ending 30 December 2022. The business reported that both online and retail store sales "exceeded full price sales expectations".

Next said it now expects full year sales of £4.6 billion, up 6.9% on the year before, and for pre-tax profits to rise 4.5% to £860 million.
