New “Soho Speaks” short films on IGTV go behind the brands of Soho
Launching this week – ahead of ‘Small Business Saturday’ on 5 December - “Soho Speaks” is a new series of digital films to celebrate independent businesses in Soho.
It kicked off last night with an interview on Instagram TV (IGTV) with charismatic Soho tailor Mark Powell, who’s celebrating his 35th anniversary in the area this year.
Others to have been interviewed for the film series include Filiz Ayan, owner of independent women’s and men’s jewellery store, Seven Mor, at 7A Newburgh Street.

Berwick Street businesses BLEACH hair salon and the famous Sister Ray records store join restaurants Ember Yard and Polpo to also be given the special Soho film treatment, and fashion brands such as contemporary Scandinavian style merchants Wood Wood – located at 35 Brewer Street – will have written Q&A’s and profile features on the @ThisIsSoho social channels. As will Soho vintage clothing and accessories store Reign Vintage.
