New online textile studio marketplace The Pattern Cloud set shake up buying

Six leading textile design studios have united to create The Pattern Cloud, an online marketplace for print and patterns targeting fashion and textile buyers globally, which they say will "revolutionise" traditional industry buying habits by offering daily access to new designs.

The Pattern Cloud, which will feature a range of exclusive and non-exclusive print and pattern options for buyers, was founded by British studios Amanda Kelly, Bay & Brown, Gather No Moss, Owens & Kim, Peagreen, and Whiston & Wright. It will feature designs from these studios as well as those from "an even larger community of textile studios" from Britain, Europe and the United States.

Buyers will be able to search for designs by studio, gender, season or theme while an "interactive pinboard" will enable them to save and review their favourite designs with their design teams.

“We have joined forces to create a seamless storefront to support and enhance the everyday working life of buyers,” explained founder Tracey Brown of Bay & Brown. “Members will discover up to the minute cutting edge trends alongside fresh and original ways with time honoured classics.”

Prints shown on finished garments

Men's, women's and kids designs will feature on the site and will be shown photographed on finished garments to enable buyers to see final print outcomes. The team believes it will shake-up the way buyers work as they will able to access new designs daily as the industry moves away from traditional seasonal models.

The Pattern Cloud has also launched a blog to support the service which features a curated feed of "the best global design from fashion, graphic, and homeware markets". The service will launch on 30 June and buyers can register to receive more information now.
