New menswear DTC brand Hand and Jones launches

Hand and Jones, a new DTC British men’s lifestyle brand specialising in premium men’s basics, has launched. The eponymous brand is inspired by founder and creative director Graham Hand’s life living between London and Rye in East Sussex. 

Hand and Jones’ objective was to create a range of products that were increasingly unable to find in the existing men’s market – ageless, stylish and enduring wardrobe staples for a cross-section of men and all ages, shapes and sizes. The non-seasonal range will respond and evolve organically over time.

Launch products include knitwear, accessorises and t-shirts with underwear following in the new year. As part of the debut collection they have collaborated with Nicola Rowsell, an artist and illustrator based in East Sussex, to feature her striking lion and leopard illustrations on two styles in 100% 12-gauge intarsia cashmere sweaters.

“Although I won’t use the word ‘luxury’ to describe our products because it has lost much of its meaning in today’s marketplace, what I can tell you is you won’t find better quality, design and finish at this price in the contemporary menswear market,” says Hand.

Production of the garments is built on Hand’s long-standing relationships with respected producers who can make in genuine limited quantities using natural fibres that are durable, breathable and fully biodegradable, with as low an environmental impact as possible. Yarns are from sustainable sources, enabling Hand and Jones to track the production from the welfare of the animal through the environmentally responsible processes of the factories.

“I take pride in everything we do and want to share this with you. While we’re not reinventing the wheel, we’re certainly hoping to make it run smoother.” he says.
