Nigel Oddy, a former CEO of House of Fraser, is joining New Look as chief operating officer, effective 1 April.

Oddy is the former CEO of retailer The Range and prior to that had been CEO of House of Fraser from 2015 to 2017 and before that was its Chief Operating Officer from 2010 to 2014.

New Look executive chairman Alistair McGeorge said he was "delighted" to welcome Oddy to the business: "His operational expertise and significant retail experience will be a great asset to the team as New Look continues to deliver on its turnaround strategy and reposition itself for future growth.”

Oddy joins at a crucial time for the business, which is currently trading under a CVA and is seeking to restructure its retail operations, having undergone a debt-for-equity refinancing exercise. However the value fashion retailer recently announced it had swung back into profit with underlying operating profits of £38.5m for the nine months to 22 December.

Oddy said of his appointment: “New Look is a strong brand with 50 years of heritage and a great team. I look forward to being part of the business at this exciting point in its development.”
