A new independent multibrand retailer, VERB, has just opened a store in Beverley's Flemingate development.

Founded by Lee Wardell who previously managed Leonard Silver Menswear in Beverley, the new store stocks a range of premium men's labels including Florentino, Gibson London, Pearly King, Brooks Taverner, Mac Jeans, Alberto Jeans and Goodwin Smith Shoes, along with a range of womenswear.

Wardell, who has 35 years' industry experience, said a commitment to "outstanding customer service" was a the centre of the offer. "Our highly-trained staff will offer expert guidance and advice to customers who are looking for excellent product knowledge, high-end service and an independent shopping experience," he said.

"Beverley is a lovely place and we’re in a great location at Flemingate for customers to park and have a relaxing shopping experience combined with something to eat or drink at one of the centre’s great cafes or restaurants," he added.

The 1,550 sq ft store will be open seven days a week and is adjacent to fellow independent retailer and jeweller, Guest and Philips at the Wykeland-owned development. “VERB will give customers a taste of something out of the ordinary which will complement Flemingate’s strong fashion offering and mix of high street and independent outlets. It adds to Beverley’s ever-growing appeal as a retail destination and a great place to visit," said Wykeland Group property director David Donkin.

Flemingate is also home to a number of major high street names such as Debenhams, H&M, River Island and Peacocks as well as the multibrand retailer Outfit, which features brands from the Arcadia group such as Topshop, Topman, Dorothy Perkins, Wallis, Miss Selfridge and Burton.
