New Boohoo CEO John Lyttle takes over
John Lyttle, former chief operating officer at Primark, has officially taken over as CEO of fashion fashion etail group Boohoo.
As a result of Lyttle's arrival, former joint CEOs Mahmud Kamani and Carol Kane have moved into new positions. Kamani becomes group executive chairman and group co-founder while Kane becomes executive director, as previously announced. Lyttle's appointment was announced last September.
Chairman Peter Williams has also officially stood down and the Manchester group has said the search process to recruit two new independent non-executive directors is underway and progressing well.
Williams, a former CEO of Selfridges and chairman of ASOS, has teamed up with Superdry co-founder Julian Dunkerton to support his bid to be returned to the board of the fashion retailer. Dunkerton has requisitioned a shareholder meeting on 2 April to seek his own reinstatement to the company and the installation of Williams as a director. The board of Superdry has resisted the move so far.
