Napapijri teams up with Superga for latest collaboration

Italian outerwear brand Napapijri continues its recent slew of collaborations, this time joining with Superga for a footwear capsule collection.

Inspired by the brands' Alpine heritage and passion for outdoor living, the collaboration fuses Superga’s Alpina sneakers with their unmistakable lug sole, and design elements borrowed from Napapijri’s Tibet shoes - its first item of footwear.

Argu Secilmis, Vice President Product & Marketing for Napapijri, commented: "It means a lot for Napapijri to have successfully merged its heritage with that of another iconic Italian brand. Superga represents a stepstone in the history of shoemaking, and we are proud for our first footwear collab to be with them."

The Tibet, which marked a turning point in Napapijri's history, boasts a distinctive rubber border - inspired by free climbing shoes. Superga's Alpina sneakers, introduced in the 1950s, became instantly popular among the alpine adventurer community.

Blending the two, the collection is "dedicated to adventure-driven female consumers" and is available in an earthy palette, brightened by colourful accents.

Lorenzo Boglione, BasicNet Vice Chairman, added: "For Superga it’s essential to cooperate with historical Italian brands, among which Napapijri is without doubt an excellence. In this collaboration we naturally choose to match their Tibet shoe with our iconic outdoor style, the Alpina."

This news follows Napapijri's recent collection using Liberty Fabrics. The collaboration re-imagines exploration and travel through two textile designs exclusively drawn from Liberty Fabrics’ archive.
