N Brown confirms Steve Johnson as new CEO
E-commerce group N Brown has confirmed that Steve Johnson will take on the role of CEO on a permanent basis.
Johnson was appointed as interim CEO to replace Angela Spindler who stood down at the end of September; he had previously been the group's CEO of Financial Services. Prior to joining N Brown in 2016, he held senior roles at Shop Direct, Sainsbury's and Halifax.
“Having conducted a thorough and extensive search process, the board is delighted to appoint Steve as CEO,” said N Brown Group chairman Matt Davis.
“As interim CEO he has shown the strategic thinking, pace, energy and focus, which demonstrates that he is the best person to take the business forward.”
In its latest figures the parent company of Jacamo, Simply Be and JD Williams reported a 1.6% fall in group revenues over the 18 weeks to 5 January, with its “power brands” seeing growth of just 0.1%.
The Manchester-based group said last year that it was repositioning itself as an online focused business, which would involve the closure of 20 physical stores.
