N Brown adds former M&S exec Richard Price to board
Former Marks & Spencer Managing Director of Clothing, Home & Beauty, Richard Price, has joined N Brown Group as an Independent Non-Executive Director, as the retailer continues its transformation.
Price brings more than 35 years of UK retail experience to the N Brown board, having held senior roles at M&S, Tesco, BHS and NEXT across product, merchandising, trading and customer proposition.
Most recently, Price led Marks & Spencer's clothing, home and beauty division, where he oversaw a significant transformation of the business, including its product proposition, market share and financial performance.
Prior to M&S, Price was CEO of F&F Clothing at Tesco, where he led the £1.7 billion international clothing business.
At N Brown, Price will also succeed Ash Piranie as Chair of the Remuneration Committee, subject to FCA approval. Piranie will become Senior Independent Director while continuing as Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee.
Meanwhile, Malcolm Le May, who has served as Chair since March 2026, will become Executive Chair. In the role, he will focus on N Brown’s financial strategy and work alongside CEO Dan Joy and the wider leadership team.
The changes follow the recent appointment of Zoe Matthews as Managing Director of Retail, adding further senior retail and transformation experience to the business.
Malcolm Le May, Executive Chair of N Brown, said: “Richard is an exceptional addition to the N Brown Board. He has spent his career at the forefront of UK retail, with a proven ability to transform major businesses by sharpening their product proposition, strengthening commercial performance and navigating periods of significant change.”
He added that Price’s experience was “highly relevant” to N Brown as it continues its transformation, with his commercial judgement and strategic perspective expected to support the board’s long-term growth strategy.
Richard Price, Independent Non-Executive Director of N Brown, said: “N Brown has a distinctive position in UK retail, built on a deep understanding of its customers and brands that have served them for generations. There is a real opportunity to build on those strengths while continuing to evolve the proposition for how customers want to shop today.”
Price said he was looking forward to bringing his experience to N Brown and working with the Board and wider leadership team as the group develops its next phase of growth.
N Brown is the parent company of JD Williams, Jacamo and Simply Be and operates a digital retail platform spanning clothing, footwear, home and technology, alongside its financial services offering.
