My Wardrobe HQ launches menswear rental service with Belstaff

19 February 2021

As part of the start of London Fashion Week this morning, Belstaff launched its first ever luxury menswear rental offering with My Wardrobe HQ, featuring a range of Belstaff’s “Icons” including the "Trialmaster" and "Racemaster" jackets.

Chair of My Wardrobe HQ, Jane Shepherdson, marked the launch on the LFW schedule with a panel discussion on the future of the rental market and “greener fashion choices” – hitting home Belstaff’s “Built for Life” message - with Editor of British GQ, Dylan Jones, actor and Belstaff brand ambassador, James Norton, artist, writer and model, Wilson Oryema, and photographer, Misan Harriman.

Since launching in 2019, My Wardrobe HQ has become a leading destination for renting and buying contemporary and luxury womenswear fashion, to which they added the first ever childrenswear offering in September, 2020.

Launched with the aim of encouraging customers to support the fashion industry by looking at new ways to shop, it champions conscious consumption. The new partnership with Belstaff is seen as “symbolic of how fashion is changing.”

Jane Shepherdson said: “‘Rental is going from strength to strength in the womenswear market, and menswear is an obvious next step. In fact, 30% of our existing database are men so we know that the demand is there. Belstaff were our first choice of launch partner, as we wanted to offer something that is very different to the traditional ‘event’ dressing that the men’s rental market is known for. We couldn’t be prouder of this partnership with Belstaff, a brand that is synonymous with long-lasting quality and expert craftsmanship.”

Belstaff CEO, Fran Millar, added: “We think the rental opportunity is a really interesting one for a brand like ours where our ‘Icon’ pieces really are investments that we hope will last people a lifetime. Making a purchase decision like that can take careful consideration and what better way than to try it out in your own life before deciding to make the commitment.

“We know women’s rental and resale is a growing industry and has been for a number of years, but why shouldn’t men have the same opportunity? We are proud to be the launch partner for My Wardrobe HQ’s men’s offering, promoting a circular fashion economy.

Stand out pieces include the iconic waxed cotton "Trialmaster", the four-pocket field jacket that was quickly adopted by the moto community when it launched in 1948, and additional waxed cotton styles like the shorter "Racemaster", and the café racer style "Kelland".

Belstaff’s 6oz waxed cotton is both wind and water resistant, produced sustainably by British Millerain. Leather styles will also be offered, including the ‘Trialmaster Panther.’

There’s a minimum of a four-day rental, and options for seven or 14 days, like My Wardrobe HQ’s women’s offers. Prices depend on style and rental period.
