British luxury brand Mulberry is set to open a new store in London's historic Burlington Arcade next month.

According to the Evening Standard the brand has confirmed that the "gifting boutique" will stock "a carefully selected range of signature and seasonal gifts for both him and her, including iconic Mulberry bags and small leather goods”.

The second floor of the store will be home to a small gin bar created in partnership with British gin makers Hepple.

Burlington Arcade

Burlington Arcade in Mayfair is the oldest shopping arcade in the country, having been built in 1819 when Lord George Cavendish commissioned architect Samuel Ware to build a covered promenade of shops next to his home, Burlington House, which is now the Royal Academy.

Its original occupants included family-run milliners and corsetieres and it then became known for its jewellers and watchmakers in particular; just this week jeweller Patrick Mavros opened a store there. In recent years a number of luxury brands have opened boutiques in arcade including Chanel and Manolo Blahnik and the Standard reports that accessories designer Sophie Hulme is eyeing the arcade for her debut standalone store.
