Mulberry ramps up UK investment with new store at Liverpool ONE

Luxury British brand Mulberry has signed for a new 979 sq ft store at Liverpool ONE shopping centre, set to open in November 2026.

Located in a prominent position in Keys Court on Peter’s Lane at the shopping centre, the signing aligns with the brand’s ‘Back to the Mulberry Spirit’ strategy, which places renewed emphasis on investing in its core UK market, strengthening customer connection and focusing on the locations best placed to support long-term growth.

The signing also reinforces Peter’s Lane’s growing appeal as a premium fashion and lifestyle destination, building on recent leasing momentum with brands including Arne, House of CB, Monica Vinader and Salomon’s first full-price UK store outside of London.

Pablo Sueiras, Head of Retail and Hospitality Leasing at Liverpool ONE landlord Landsec, said: “Mulberry’s decision to open in Liverpool ONE reflects the opportunity presented by Peter’s Lane as it continues to establish itself as a premium retail destination.

“As the brand sharpens its focus on its core UK market, Liverpool ONE offers the right combination of brand performance and spend potential to support its long-term ambitions.”

Mulberry

Earlier this month, Mulberry appointed former Dr. Martens CEO Kenny Wilson as a Non-Executive Director as the luxury brand's turnaround strategy continues to gain momentum.

Last month, Mulberry revealed it had significantly reduced its losses and returned to growth in its latest financial year. For the 52 weeks to 28 March 2026, it reported a loss before tax of £8.9 million, compared with £32.2 million the previous year.

Underlying losses narrowed to £8 million from £24.1 million, while the business returned to positive underlying EBITDA of £0.8 million, an improvement of £17.6 million year-on-year.

Group revenue also increased 4% to £125.5 million, with growth accelerating in the second half of the year. Retail and digital like-for-like sales rose 9%, while gross margin improved from 67% to 72% as Mulberry focused on full-price trading and reduced promotional activity.

Mulberry also revealed it will return to the runway after a six-year absence with its first womenswear collection by Christopher Kane, who was appointed as Creative Director of Ready-to-Wear in March 2026, at next month’s London Fashion Week.

Scheduled for 20 September, the show will be titled ‘Mulberry by Christopher Kane’, with the collection set to arrive in stores and online in January 2027.
