Mulberry opens dedicated men’s pop-up store in east London’s Spitafields

Mulberry opened a new dedicated men’s pop-up store on Saturday, 29 October 2022, at east London’s Spitafields – set to run for six months.

Featuring a curated selection of signature styles and new season accessories, customers are also able to purchase a selection of “lovingly restored pre-loved and vintage” Mulberry bags.

The space combines pieces from heritage ranges such as the brand’s ‘Clipper’ travel bags, as well as contemporary ‘City’ styles including the ‘Antony’ crossbody bag, and the brand’s new performance-led designs such as the sports-influenced ‘Utility Postman’s Lock’ collection.

The pop-up also has an edit of men’s travel and tech accessories, trainers, and small leather goods, and the curated selection is underpinned by Mulberry’s ‘Made to Last’ ethos, with 100% of the leather used for new products being carbon neutral and environmentally accredited.

Sustainable materials highlighted in the collections include ‘Eco Scotchgrain’, a material crafted from innovative bio-synthetic materials, repurposing inedible cereal waste into a hard-wearing, lightweight material that looks and feels the same as textured leather.

Customers are also able to discover pre-loved styles like the ‘Heritage Backpack’ and the ‘Chiltern Small Briefcase’ as part of the Mulberry Exchange, the brand’s circular economy programme, ensuring that “each and every bag has many lives”.

The exchange is a suite of services that enables customers to have their Mulberry bags authenticated and expertly restored, with the opportunity to trade in their existing bag for credit towards either a new purchase, or a pre-loved style.

In the run up to Christmas, the Spitalfields store will also showcase a variety of lifestyle brands “that share Mulberry’s affinity for art, culture and music”, with vinyl records from Rough Trade, books from luxury publisher Assouline, skateboards from Arbor, and candles and home fragrances from Lola James Harpers.

Additional exclusive in-store programming will be announced during the six-month pop-up residency.

New York fashion brand Coach, best known for its quality leather bags and accessories, also opened a pop-up store at Spitafields last Friday as a celebration of its ‘(Re) Loved’ programme, called ‘Tomorrow’s Vintage’. That store will run until 16 January 2023 at 4 Market Street.
