Mulberry and Acne announce collaboration

British luxury house Mulberry has announced a collaboration with cult Swedish label Acne Studios.

Little information has been revealed about the collaboration other than to say it comprises bags and small leather goods, which "marry together the signature designs of the two houses".

Images of the collaboration's logo and a video on its creation have been released but that is all the houses are showing until the collection is released on 5 November. The logo shows Acne's name interspersed among the leaves of Mulberry's tree logo.

Mulberry was founded in the UK in 1971 and is headed by former Celine accessories designer Johnny Coca, who has overhauled its signature designs such as the Bayswater and introduced new best sellers, such as the Amberley. The brand's roots are in Somerset where it still has a factory.

Acne Studios was founded in Stockholm in 1996 as part of the creative collective ACNE – an acronym for Ambition to Create Novel Expressions. It became known quickly for its rigid denim styles but under creative director Jonny Johannson has grown into a cult ready-to-wear and accessories house known for its minimalist, edgy designer and sold in the most prestigious luxury retailers globally.
