M&S has announced today that due to the continuing economic crisis in Britain, it’s bringing back the popular 20% off school uniform offer for the third year in a row.

First introduced in 2021, at the start of the cost-of-living crisis, M&S made a commitment to protect the value on the products that matter most to customers.

According to the latest M&S Family Matters Index, the cost of living remains a concern for 81% of families, with 62% of customers placing value as the most important priority when shopping.

Back by popular demand, M&S will be offering an additional 20% off school uniforms for early bird shoppers. Prices in the range start from £7 for a multipack of three unisex polo shirts. But, with the early-bird discount, prices start from just £5.60 for early shoppers.

M&S school uniform, which was ranked number 1 by consumers for value for money on YouGov, prioritises quality even with the reduced pricing. For example, the retailer’s uniforms are designed to be durable enough to endure hand-me-downs. So, even when it’s been outgrown, it can be handed down to family and friends.

What’s more, the range features innovative designs that grow with children, such as growth-proof hems and adjustable waistbands. The latest range also includes parent-friendly innovations, such as permanent pleats in skirts to easy-iron shirts.

Alexandra Dimitriu, Kidswear Director at M&S, commented:"“School uniform is an essential purchase for millions of families and now more than ever, parents are prioritising value when it comes to making purchasing decisions.

"We believe that a great price shouldn’t come at the expense of great quality and by continuing to protect prices, we’re ensuring affordable school uniform – that also passes the hand-me-down test - is accessible to all families this Back-to-School season."
