Marks and Spencer has appointed Jane Robson as its new Fashion, Home & Beauty Director of Sourcing, Quality and Sustainability, effective in August.

Robson has most recently been in the role of Chief Operating Officer at Vogue Sourcing UK, a position she has held since May 2024.

Previously she has held the position of Non-Executive Director at Threadbare, and was appointed as Non-Executive Director at Fanfare Label. She also served as Strategic Advisor for My Wardrobe HQ for almost seven years, as well as a Designer Mentor at the British Fashion Council for five years.

Earlier roles include that of Managing Director of NEXT Sourcing Limited, from September 2004 to June 2010, based in Hong Kong.

Having spent her career reshaping complex international sourcing offices, in her new role Robson will be based at M&S’s Waterside Stores Support Centre. She will start her role with a thorough induction, spending time in M&S stores, sourcing offices and supply base.

She will be taking over from Monique Leeuwenburgh, who will be retiring from M&S in October after seven years with the business.

On Leeuwenburgh’s pending departure, John Lyttle, Managing Director of M&S, commented: “Monique has been instrumental in shaping our global sourcing strategy, strengthening key supplier partnerships, and leading transformation across our international operations.

“Monique is respected across the business for leading with integrity, professionalism, and collaboration, and we thank her for her commitment.”

Last week M&S reported it had completed the renewal of its Pantheon flagship store at 173 Oxford Street, bringing food, fashion, home and beauty together across four floors.

The store will operate as its first full-line research and development (R&D) site for fashion, home and beauty.

The British high street retailer unveiled the Pantheon store’s remaining two upper floors on Monday, 13 July, adding its latest menswear, kidswear, lingerie and home collections to the renewed location.

The transformation covers almost 100,000 sq ft and has been completed in stages while the store continued trading. M&S has occupied the building, identified by its green PANTHEON lettering, since 1938.

Also last week, M&S revealed it is set to start work on its Marble Arch flagship redevelopment next year.
