Mr Porter's Langmead to edit revived Luxx magazine

The Times is reviving its quarterly magazine for its most affluent readers, Luxx, with Mr Porter's Jeremy Langmead in the role of editor.

The publication ran from 2007 to 2013 when it was shelved. Rebekah Brooks CEO at News UK, which publishes The Times and The Sunday Times said the decision to revive the publication was the desire to "address the needs of our most affluent readers."

"We know that our readers believe it is worth paying for quality, and they trust us to keep them informed on all matters of luxury with the same integrity, authority and sound judgment as Times journalism,” she said. The first edition of the relaunched publication will be out on Saturday 3 December.

Langmead will retain his role as director of brand and content at the Net-A-Porter-owned luxury men's site Mr Porter, which he helped launch six years ago. During his career in journalism he has been editor of high end men's publication Esquire and of lifestyle publication Wallpaper*. He is also very familiar with The Times, having been the launch editor for Sunday Times Style.

"The allure of creating something new for a brand like The Times, with the far-reaching and sophisticated readership it brings, that covers all the areas I’ve spent the last 20 years working with, and in, was too tempting to resist. I very much look forward to working with the teams at The Times to create a product that is intelligent and enticing and understands both the luxury market and its consumer," Langmead said.
