Mr Porter launches shoppable Apple TV app

Mr Porter has launched a shoppable app for Apple TV that will enable shoppers to browse and shop its weekly publication The Journal.

Created for tvOS, Apple TV's operating system, the app will be updated on a regular basis and will feature short videos and films from each issue of the digital publication including how-to videos and tutorials and behind-the-scenes footage.

Accessible through iPhone and iPad the app allows shoppers to scroll through categories and browse content and, via the videos, 3-D views of items are available to view before making a purchase.

Yoox Net-a-Porter CEO (parent company of men's luxury etailer) Federico Marchetti told WWD the move was part of the group's aim to create "innovative new omnichannel retail experiences". "The vision of shopping luxury via Apple TV is now a reality," he said. "We are pleased that Mr Porter is among the first to give luxury customers a great new way to shop."
